COAS stresses escalated pace of IBOs to eliminate terrorism
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif presided over the Corps Commanders Conference held at General Headquarters on Monday.
The meeting dwelt at length on internal and external security situation and other professional matters. The participants also took holistic view of the emerging geo-strategic environment and its relevance to security of Pakistan.
Speaking at the forum, the COAS expressed his complete satisfaction over the progress of ongoing operation in Shawal and adjoining areas in North Wazirastan Agency.
The COAS said: “As we move towards conclusion of large-scale kinetic operation in FATA, there is a need to look ahead and consolidate the gains for long-term stability.”
He directed more effective border management and continued proactive dominance of the cleared areas to maintain writ of the state in FATA. He reasserted that TDPs return must be completed as per the laid down time line.
He stressed the need for escalated pace of IBOs across the country to eliminate the entire infrastructure of terrorism in Pakistan.
The COAS paid rich tributes to the sacrifices and valor of officers and men of security agencies in operation ZeA and vowed that under no circumstances these gains will be compromised.
