Comedian Babbu Baral remembered on seventh death anniversary
LAHORE (92 News) – Fans and theatre artists marked the death anniversary of stage actor Babbu Baral on Monday.
The comedian had passed away on April 16, 2011. He is fondly remembered as one of the greatest actors in the history of commercial theatre.
Babbu Baral was born in Gujranwala in 1959. He made his name during 1970s and 1980s.
Babbu Baral had started his stage career in Gujranwala with Bhukkhay Hath Batairay. Fakhri Ahmad brought him to Lahore in 1984. Visiting the United States with a cultural delegation, he stayed on for nearly 3 years. Some of his best remembered performances were in Shartiya Mitthay, Topi Drama and Kuch na Kaho.
Babbu Baral also performed in more than 20 movies and was a competent musician.
He was a versatile actor and had a voice perfect for stage. He was at the peak of his career when he fell ill in 2010. He died of complications of cancer at the age of 51.
