Commonwealth Games: Wrestler Inam wins first gold medal for Pakistan

GOLD COAST, Australia (92 News) – Pakistan won their first ever gold medal at Commonwealth Games as Wrestler Muhammad Inam won the 86 kg freestyle event. He defeated Indian wrestler earlier and then Nigerian wrestler in the final.

Pakistan has won first gold medal in Commonwealth Games 2018. Wrestler Muhammad Inam remained unbeaten in 86 kilogram category.

Inam defeated Nigerian wrestler in the final match.

Pakistani wrestler kept his opponent helpless continuously and remained successful with 6-0 score.

Pakistani wrestler Tayyab Raza won Bronze medal in 125 kilogram category. Pakistan has won five medals in the event so-far including one Gold and 4 Bronze medals.

Meanwhile, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa congratulated Wrestler Muhammad Inam on clinching a gold medal in Commonwealth Games. “Well done for keeping the Pakistani flag high and bringing honour to the country,” said the COAS.
