Complete shutdown in Kashmir over trucker’s death
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A complete shutdown strike is being observed in Indian-held Kashmir (IHK), on Monday, against the killing of a Kashmiri trucker.
The Indian authorities have imposed restrictions in eight areas in Indian-held Kashmir and placed several separatist leaders under house arrest.
The restrictions have been imposed as a precautionary measure following violent protests yesterday in many parts of the Valley after Zahid, the truck conductor, succumbed to his injuries in a Delhi hospital.
Strict restrictions have been imposed on the movement of people in Anantnag and Bijbehara police station areas in South Kashmir. Similar restrictions have been imposed in six police station areas of Srinagar — M R Gunj, Nowhatta, Safa Kadal, Maisuma, Rainawari and Khanyar.
