ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the country is running on adhocism and long-term policies are not being formed.

Addressing a ceremony held to distribute tax-refund cheques among exporters on Wednesday, he said that long-term policies will make a significant improvement in the country. “The country cannot be stabilized until it is in deficit,” he said.

The prime minister said that the government is fully focusing on the industry and controlling smuggling. “Had there been no corruption the country would have touched new height through reserves worth billions of rupees.”

He said that they are thankful to Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan for waiving the charges of Rs170 billion in the Karkay case.

Imran Khan said that the government would follow the model of China to uplift the country. “We cannot be a respectable nation by getting loans from other countries,” he said.

He said that the investment is increasing in the country. “Exports are also increasing in the country. Pakistan possesses much more potential as compared to other countries in the region,” he said.

The prime minister said that the country cannot make progress without the tax culture. “Shabbar Zaidi deserves congratulations. Traders should consider tax as their national obligation,” he said.
