CTD shot dead four terrorists involved in Sri Lankan team attack
LAHORE (92 News) – The Counter-Terrorism Department has on Sunday gunned down four terrorists involved in involved in the attack on Sri Lankan cricket team and Moon Market blast in the provincial capital’s Manawan area.
As per details, around eight terrorists opened firing at the vehicle of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Mian Town Burj. The police team which came under attack of terrorists returned the fire, killing four of them on the spot while the remaining four managed to escape by taking advantage of darkness.
The law enforcers have launched a search operation in the area to trace the absconding terrorists.
The killed terrorists identified as Abdul Wahab, Adnan Arshad, Zubair and Ateeq-ur-Rehman.
According to CTD spokesman, the killed terrorists were involved in attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in 2009 and Lahore’s Moon Market attack in 2008. “Six policemen escorting the team were killed, while seven players were injured in the attack,” he added.
The law enforcers have also recovered weapons and explosive from their possession, while their bodies were shifted to the morgue.
