Daska incident: Lawyers fraternity stage violent protests in front of Punjab Assembly, torch camps
LAHORE (92 News) – The legal fraternity on Tuesday held countrywide violent protests against killing of two lawyers, including a local bar association president by an SHO in Daska on Monday.
As per reports, infuriated lawyers made a failed attempt to barge into the main gate of Punjab Assembly, burning tents erected outside the building and chanting slogans against police and the provincial government.
The violent protests in several cities of Punjab, including Lahore and Gujranwala, prompted bar associations to announce countrywide boycott of courts. Lawyers boycotted court proceedings today and staged protests in different cities, including Daska, Gujranwala and Sialkot.
