Deseating of PM Nawaz won’t derail democracy: Raja Pervaiz Ashraf

LAHORE (92 News) – Former prime minister and Pakistan People’s Party leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has on Saturday said that the democracy wont derail with the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as it didn’t derail when former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani resigned.

Talking to media after meeting the outgoing Iranian Consulate General Muhammad Hussain bin Asadi, he said that the democracy won’t derail with the de-seating of the prime minister in the Panama Papers Case.

The former prime minister also expressed good wishes for the outgoing Iranian Consulate General Muhammad Hussain bin Asadi.

He said that those who had distributed sweets on the formation of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) have now frustrated.

Earlier, he appeared before the accountability court for hearing related to illegal hirings in GEPCO.

The court adjourned the hearing until August 15.

The court also issued show cause notice after the Investigation officer failed to appear.
