Dialogues with Taliban should resume, says Aftab Sherpao

PESHAWAR (92 News) – Qaumi Wattan Party (QWP) chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has on Sunday said that the dialogues with the Afghan Taliban should start again and urged the need to improve bilateral ties with Afghanistan.

Addressing a press conference in Peshawar on Sunday, he said that the dialogues with Afghan Taliban are necessary for lasting peace.

He said that there was need to improve bilateral ties with Afghansiatan for the restoration of peace, adding that the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani also wishes to bilateral relations.

Sherpao said that it was reason that Afghan president invited him to Afghanistan to play his role, adding that he has succeeded in organizing a meeting in Paris between prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Afghan president Ashraf Ghani.

Commenting on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, the QWP chief said that they will oppose any change in rout at every level.
