Don’t hide behind courts, institutions: Maryam asks PM Khan
LAHORE (92 News) – Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz lashed at Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying that don’t hide behind the courts and institutions.
She said while addressing a gathering in Lahore to mark Youm-e-Takbeer, when Pakistan conducted nuclear tests on May 28, 1998. The daughter of incarcerated former prime minister Nawaz Sharif challenged to the rivals for fighting against her and Hamza Shehbaz in the field.
“Don’t hide behind court and institutions. Come and fight against Maryam and Hamza in the field,” she said addressing Prime Minister Imran. Maryam Nawaz termed Imran Khan for being a selected, incompetent prime minister.
Maryam paid tribute to PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif for making Pakistan a nuclear power. “If Nawaz was out of jail today, this PTI’s government would not last,” she said.
“All his interviews, his speeches have been about Nawaz Sharif,” said Maryam, asking the premier to focus his attention elsewhere. “You might be a selected leader, but you are the ‘greatest incompetent’ minister of Pakistan – wake up, and serve the country and its people.”
The PML-N vice president lamented that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif who made Pakistan a nuclear power has been jailed. She said the PML-N supreme leader who made the country’s defence impregnable is languishing in prison.
Firing a broadside at Prime Minister Imran Khan, Maryam said he came to power by foul means, questioning “What NRO a person who is reliant on others will give?”
“Imran, you are a puppet, a pawn and dance to someone else’s tunes,” she said and asked him to explain as to who is asking his government for a NRO-like deal.
“Nawaz Sharif made Pakistan an atomic power and he was in the jail for the people of Pakistan,” Maryam explained. She also said that PM Khan had come through back door. She added that Imran has done a secret deal with the IMF.
