ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan on Friday declared PK-23 Shangla constituency results null and void in the case of low turnout of female voters.

As per details, the original polls and results have been declared null and void due to fact that less than 10% of the total votes included female voters.

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s Shaukat Yousefzai had won but ECP withheld his victory notification. Out of 86,698 registered women, only 3,505 voted. ECP has since decided to invalidate the results of any constituency where female voter turnout is less than 10%.

The total turnout in the constituency was 9.68 percent, he said adding that the election results are declared null and void if the turnout is less than ten percent.
