ECP to review funding documents submitted by PTI
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has on Monday decided to review the funding documents submitted by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
A four-member bench of the ECP headed by the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sardar Muhammad Raza resumed hearing of the case.
During the proceedings, Anwar Mansoor, the counsel of PTI didn’t appear before the ECP. The junior lawyer prayed that the ECP can scrutinize the accounts of PTI but the details shouldn’t be shared with the applicant.
Later, the ECP adjourned the hearing of the case until October 21, while the Islamabad High Court (IHC) will resume hearing of the case on December 5.
The ECP remarked that it will not share funding details with the applicant until the orders of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The ECP later adjourned the hearing until November 21.
Later talking to media outside the ECP, the petitioner Akbar S Babar said Imran Khan cannot escape from his disqualification as he is involved in hiding the party funding and tempering the records.
He said the PTI Chairman has committed forgery through submitting the fabricated evidence in the apex court.
He said Imran Khan has also concealed the records of his two illegal companies in the United States.
