Educational scholarships for Pakistan increased by four times, says British HC Philip Barton

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – British High Commissioner Philip Barton has said that Britain is a supporter of improving relations between Pakistan and India.

Talking to the media after a ceremony held in honour of 73 male and female students selected for this year’s Chevening scholarships, he said that Pakistan is an important country for Britain.

“For this reason, educational scholarships for Pakistan have been increased by four times,” he said.

The British high commissioner said that Pakistan and India should move in the positive direction by improving their relations.

He said that they were promoting cooperation in different fields with Pakistan.

Shehla Qayyum, an official at the British Embassy, said that students from across the country can benefit from Chevening scholarships.
