Eidul Fitr being celebrated with fervor across Pakistan
LAHORE/ISLAMABAD/KARACHI (92 News) – Eidul Fitr is being celebrated across the country with religious fervor on Monday (today).
Muslims from all walks of life started making a beeline to the mosques for offering the Eid prayers. Ramzan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is observed as a fasting period by Muslims the world over who abstain from food and water during the period extending from 30 minutes before the sunrise to sunset.
Eid congregations were held at open places‚ mosques and Eidgahs throughout the country. Ulemas and religious scholars highlighted the significance and philosophy of Eidul Fitr and the need to share its joys with the have-nots.
In Lahore, the biggest gathering of Eid prayers was witnessed at Faisal Mosque where President Mamnoon Hussain offered his Eid prayers along with hundreds of faithfuls.

Envoys of Islamic countries, parliamentarians and people belonging to different walks of life also offered Eid prayers at the Faisal mosque.
In Lahore, the main Eid congregation was held at historic Badshahi Mosque.
In Peshawar, the main gathering of Eid prayers was witnessed at Eidgah Charsadda Road Peshawar.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra offered Eid prayer at Governor House Peshawar.
Chief Minister Pervez Khattak offered Eid prayer in district Nowshera and exchanged Eid greetings with people.

Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai offered Eid prayers in Killa Abdullah while Chief Minister Sanaullah Khan Zehri offered Eid prayer in Khuzdar.
In Gilgit Baltistan, the main Eid congregations were held in Gilgit city.
In Karachi, Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair offered prayer at Polo ground Gulshan-e-Jinnah.
Like other parts of the country, Eid-ul Fittar is also being celebrated in Azad Kashmir today with religious fervor and zeal.
Special prayers were offered for the unity of Muslim Ummah, stability and solidarity of Pakistan and liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile‚ security has been beefed up in different parts of the country, including the federal capital, to avoid any untoward incident on the auspicious occasion. Snap checking and patrolling by law enforcing agencies have been increased.
This year’s Eid celebrations have been eclipsed by the Ahmadpur Sharqia oil tanker incident, which claimed 138 precious lives and injured over 150 besides the and recent terrorist incidents.
