Gujranwala train accident an outcome of overspeeding, says Kh Saad Rafique
LAHORE (92 News) – Federal Minister for Railways Kh Saad Rafique has said that the Gujranwala train tragedy was an outcome of overspeeding.
Talking to the media on Monday, he said that the engine had derailed before the accident. “The plates’ bolts were found unbolted.”
He said that the JIT had demanded more three days for investigations.
Confirming the report of 92 News, the minister said that investigations with regard to over-speeding were going on. “According to the driver, he had applied the emergency brakes.”
Kh Saad Rafique claimed that the condition of the bridge was satisfactory.
“The pillars of the bridge are still strong. The train did not stop at a place where it should,” he said, adding that Pakistan Express crossed the bridge daily.
