NWA traders end protest camp after acceptance of their demand
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – North Waziristan Agency traders announced to end their sit-in after acceptance of their demand.
Ajmal Baloch, traders’ leader, lauded Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
He said that the DG ISPR had played an important role in the successful talks. The protesters also chanted slogans of Pak Army Zindabad.
Earlier, a delegation of traders called on DG ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor.
Speaking on the occasion, the DG ISPR said that brave tribes of FATA have achieved peace and stability after lot of hardships and sacrifices. “Restoration of normal life after kinetic operation is part of ‘clear-hold-build-transfer’ strategy.” He maintained that the state, including security forces, is committed to rehabilitate the affected population.
He said: “We are through with challenges of ‘clear’ phase after kinetic operations, ‘hold and build’ in progress. It’s our home. By working together, we shall gradually bring back complete normalcy. It is time to be aware of inimical forces trying to create uncertainty. However, they will never succeed, Insha Allah.
The DG ISPR said that he will have a meeting with local civil-military and FATA secretariat representatives on April 22 to discuss genuine issues and way forward. “Economic rehabilitation of tribes takes priority. Mainstreaming of FATA remains key to their empowerment & prosperity,” he maintained.
