LAHORE (92 News) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday met with Leader of Opposition in National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz president Shehbaz Sharif to discuss political situation and Azadi March against the government.

The meeting that lasted for about two hours discussed in detail the matters pertaining to “Azadi March” against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

However, no statement was issued after the meeting, sending a message that the meeting failed to develop consensus on Azadi March.

According to a declaration of the meeting issued by the PML-N, the two leaders also discussed overall political and economic situation of the country.

They also discussed the possibility of calling an All Parties Conference (APC) over the country’s rapidly worsening economic and political situation.

About PML-N’s decision to join Azadi March, Shehbaz Sharif said he has called a meeting of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) on September 30 over the issue. He said the final decision will be taken at the CEC.

Earlier talking to media in Lahore, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that date for the ‘Azadi March’ will be decided within the next few days.

He said that they have arranged 15 million march successfully and they have the ability to arrange “Azadi March”.

“The opposition parties must stick to the Islamabad agreement,” he said.

The JUI-F chief accused the government of selling occupied Kashmir and said that the country is facing issues of rising inflation, unemployment and unrest, adding that the people belonging to every sector are suffering.

“The ruling PTI government is illegal and incapable,” he said and added overthrowing this government would be in country’s interest.

To a question regarding Sheikh Rasheed, Fazlur Rehman said that he cannot comment on such things.

He said: “The joint strategy will be announced will be announced after consulting the opposition parties.”

Fazlur Rehman went on to say that the purpose of going to Islamabad is not intended to clash with any institution, adding that the march would be peaceful.

Meanwhile, Fazul Rehman has constituted committees to prepare for Islamabad sit-in.

On the other hand, PML-N leader Murtza Javed Abbasi claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan is putting request to Mian Nawaz Sharif for striking deal.
