Fear, personal interest & reconciliation are detrimental to judge’s rank: CJP
PESHAWAR (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar has said that fear, personal interest and reconciliation are detrimental to the rank of a judge.
Addressing judicial officers on Thursday, he said that a wrong decision has long-lasting effects.
“It is not our duty to legislate, but to impose laws. We should dispense justice with honesty,” he said.
The CJP said that judicial officers should have complete knowledge of the laws.
Earlier, CJP Mian Saqib Nisar made a surprise visit to Lady Reading Hospital and a private medical college in Peshawar. The chief justice scolded some hospital workers for not wearing their uniform.
During a surprise visit to a private medical college, Justice Nisar reviewed the facilities available to students. The chief justice reprimanded the college principal for being late for a class.
The chief justice also visited Lady Reading Hospital and examined the facilities for patients and attendants. During the visit, Justice Nisar also heard the grievances.
Justice Nisar told off several paramedics for not wearing the uniform. An administrator briefed the chief justice on medical facilities.
