First phase of LB Polls: Four women injured in Shikarpur clash
SUKKUR (92 News) – Polling is underway in eight districts of Sindh in the first phase of local bodies’ elections, in which more than 800,000 voters will exercise their right to vote.
The polling started at 7:30am and will continue till 5:30pm in the evening without any break. However, the voters inside the polling stations will be allowed to cast their votes.
More than 4 million voters will exercise their right to vote in eight districts including Sukkur, Khairpur, Ghotki, Larkana, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore and Qamber.
For the 333 union councils in eight districts of Sindh, there are 10,087 candidates in the race. A total number of 4,031 polling stations have been established for today’s election.
Meanwhile, reports of chaos and clashes have also been reported from different districts of Sindh including Ghotki where political activists had clashes.
At least four women severely injured in Shikarpur, while polling was stopped in different cities including Shikarpur after clashes.
Strict security arrangements were made for holding peaceful elections.
