RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Five civilians were injured in the Nikial Sector in Azad Jammu and Kashmir in a ceasefire violation by Indian troops along the Line of Control (LoC).

According to the tweet of Inter Service Public Relation (ISPR) Director-General Major Gen Babar Iftikhar, the injured people included two young boys and two elderly women. The Indian army targeted the civilian population last night.

The Pakistan Army responded by targeting Indian Army check posts.

On the other hand, Pakistan has condemned the latest unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian forces along the LoC.

This is the second cease fire violation made by India in July. In another attack on Saturday, a 22-year-old civilian was injured in the Battal Sector.

“5 Civilians including 2 innocent boys and 2 elderly women got injured, due to Indian Army troops unprovoked ceasefire violation in Nikial Sector along #LOC, targeting civil population late last night. Pakistan Army troops responded effectively to Indian firing,” the ISPR tweeted.

Earlier a day, a 22-year-old man was injured after Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing along the LoC and targeted civilian settlements on late Saturday night

According to the tweet of Director-General Major General Babar Iftikhar, the Indian Army fired heavy mortars at the Battal Sector along the LoC. A 22-year-old was injured as the Indian Army once again resorted to unprovoked aggression along LoC using mortars and heavy weapons.

The DG ISPR said that Pakistan Army effectively responded to Indian Army’s firing.
