Five death-row prisoners hanged in Punjab jails, two escape the noose
LAHORE (92 News) – At least five death-row prisoners convicted of murder were executed in different jails on Wednesday.
As per details, a death-row prisoner namely Muneer was hanged to death in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail. The death-row prisoner Muneer was convicted of murdering two people in 2003, while two death-row prisoners Zulfiqar Imran escaped the noose.
In Mianwali, a death-row prisoner Afsar Ali was executed in Central Jail, while a death-row prisoner convicted of killing his relative 19 years ago, was executed in Dera Ghazi Khan Central Jail.
Meanwhile, a death-row prisoner Fayyaz was executed in Bahawalpur central jail, while a death-row prisoner Qamar Zaman convicted of murder was executed in Toba Tek Singh District Jail.
The bodies were handed over to the heirs.
