FM says Pakistan to raise strong voice against Indian brutalities in IHK
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Sunday that Pakistan would raise strong voice to highlight Indian persecution and brutalities being perpetrated in Indian-held Jammu Kashmir (IHK).
FM Qureshi left for London today to attend functions being organised in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day. He will address an international conference on Kashmir in the British Parliament on February 4 (Monday).
The foreign minister will also attend an exhibition in Park Lane on February 5 (Tuesday). While talking to informal conversation, he said that Kashmir is an important cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy with Pakistan having a clear stance on the issue.
“We will raise a strong voice to highlight India’s continued atrocities in Kashmir in the House of Commons and present Pakistan’s stance on the issue,” he said.
“Pakistan will continue to extend its political, moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiris for their right to self-determination in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions,” the minister said.
On the other hand – In a telephonic conversation with senior Kashmiri leadership – he said on Kashmir Solidarity Day, Pakistan will raise strong voice to highlight Indian persecution and brutalities being perpeterated in occupied Kashmir.
FM Qureshi said that Pakistan would continue to extend its political, moral and diplomatic support for the struggle of Kashmiris for their right to self determination in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.
FM visits Oman on Tuesday
Earlier, FM visited Oman on Tuesday on a two-day visit. He represented Pakistan in the meeting of Pak-Oman Joint Ministerial Commission. Apart from foreign ministers of both countries, representatives of various departments attended the meeting.
The minister said Oman is an important country of the region and Pakistan and Oman enjoy long-term and friendly relations. He also said he will hold meetings with the Omani prime minister and the foreign minister as well as high officials of Pakistan.
FM Qureshi said that said Pakistan would continue its positive role for regional peace and stability. He said he will take the Omani leadership into confidence regarding situation in Afghanistan. He said he will also meet with Pakistani diaspora living in Oman.
