Former Saudi foreign minister Saud al-Faisal dies; PM Nawaz Sharif expresses grief over death
RIYADH – Former Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal died on Thursday, two Saudi sources said, two months after he was replaced following 40 years in the job.
Prince Saud, who was appointed in 1975, was the world’s longest serving foreign minister when he was replaced on April 29 by Adel al-Jubeir, the then ambassador to Washington.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed grief and sorrow over the death of former Saudi former minister Saud al-Faisal.
He said that Saud al-Faisal was a great friend and well-wisher of Pakistan. –Reuters/92 News
