Funeral prayer of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz to be offered on Friday
LAHORE (92 News) – The funeral prayer of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, will be offered in Lahore at 5pm on Friday (September 14).
According to the details, Kulsoom’s funeral prayer will be offered in London’s Regent Park mosque at 12:15pm on Thursday (today) after which her body will be flown to Pakistan.
PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif and other family members reached London on Wednesday night to attend the funeral and bring Kulsoom’s body back to Pakistan. Last night, when Shehbaz reached London, Nawaz’s son Hussain hugged him and broke down into tears.
PIA flight PK-758 carrying dead body of Kulsoom Nawaz will leave for Lahore from London’s Heathrow Airport at 10:00pm today and land at the Allama Iqbal International Airport at 6:00am tomorrow.
The legal formalities have been completed and the family has received a death certificate issued by the Harley Street Clinic, where Begum Kulsoom died on Tuesday.
They have also received the “out-of-England” letter has also been received from the coroner’s court, paving the way for the departure of her body for Lahore on Thursday evening.
Asma Nawaz, daughter of Nawaz Sharif, and Zakariya Hussain, son of Hussain Nawaz will come to Lahore for attending burial ceremony of Kulsoom Nawaz. The former premier’s sons, Hassan and Hussain, will not travel to Pakistan for their mother’s funeral.
Upon reaching Pakistan, the funeral prayer will also be offered at Sharif Medical City at Jati Umra in Lahore at 5pm on Friday, while Quran Khawni will be held on Sunday between Asar and Maghrib prayers. Kulsoom will be laid to rest the same day beside the grave of her father-in-law Mian Sharif at Jati Umra.
