KARACHI (92 News) - The Federal Government on Thursday sought Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad’s resignation. As per reports, the government demanded his resignation in the light of allegations leveled by executed criminal Saulat Mirza. Also, the government was now mulling on possible names for the governor’s post, before taking the Sindh government into confidence. Meanwhile, the PM House spokesperson has expressed ignorance about any such decision. Sources say the Sindh Governor has sought a month’s time in lieu of his daughter’s wedding scheduled today. Earlier last month, Saulat Mirza – a former MQM worker and target killer convicted of murder of KESC MD Shahid Hayat - had alleged that governor Sindh provided protection to MQM workers and those involved in criminal activities. Recently, the MQM also called for the Sindh governor’s resignation.
