Govt has restored peace from Karachi to Khunjrab: Nawaz Sharif
GILGIT (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif those who had considered the Motorway unnecessary now do not even think of travelling by GT Road.
Addressing a ceremony after administering oath of office to six members of the Gilgit Baltistan Council, Nawaz Sharif instead of criticizing his political rivals he decided to mention his government’s services.
He said that the government has restored peace from Karachi to Khunjrab, adding that they will not allow anyone to undermine peace of Gilgit-Baltistan.
He said that the construction work on Diamer Basha Dam will soon be started to meet the growing energy requirements of the country, adding that the federal government has approved one hundred and five billion rupees for the acquisition of land for the dam.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif administered the oath taking to newly elected members of Gilgit Baltistan Council.
The ceremony was attended amongst others by Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Barjees Tahir, Governor Gilgit Baltistan Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan and Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had performed groundbreaking of Pakistan-China Optical Fiber Cable Project in Gilgit. This Optical Fiber Cable project is a part of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), costing US $44 million will be completed in two years.
Special Communication Organization will lay 820 kilometer long cable from Rawalpindi to Khunjerab. On completion the project will provide an alternative telecommunication route between Pakistan and China.
