Govt will try to bring Afia Siddiqui back within ambit of law: Qureshi
MULTAN (92 News) – Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Thursday the government will provide legal assistance to Dr Aafia Siddiqui who is currently imprisoned in the United States.
Talking to the journalists, the foreign minister said that the government will try to take back Afia within ambit of law. “Whatever assistance could be provided to her while remaining within the ambit of law, it is my duty and I will do that,” Qureshi told journliats.
The foreign minister termed dialogues only way forward to solve issues with India. He also mentioned that Pakistan is ready to talk with but India is not taking serious to resolve all the issues. He further said that the Indian leaders are avoiding talks due to political compulsions.
Terming relations with China exemplary, Qureshi added there was no space for rumors after Pak-China joint declaration.
On the reports of Asia Bibi leaving the country, Shah stated that she was still in country and all news pertaining to her departure to a European destination are wrong.
