87,813 selected in Hajj balloting under government scheme
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The balloting for Hajj under the government scheme 2018 was held on Thursday.
As many as 107,108 applications were included in the balloting, while 87,813 applicants were selected in the balloting.
Minister of State for Religious Affairs Pir Aminul Hasnat presided over the balloting ceremony.
He said that balloting process had been made transparent. “The remaining pilgrims will be decided after the court verdict,” he said.
The Federal Cabinet at its meeting had allowed the Ministry to immediately carry out Hajj balloting for 50 percent of the total quota of the pilgrims.
The Cabinet took the decision after reviewing current status of the legal proceedings and the need to communicate maximum number of Hajj pilgrims to Saudi authorities before 3rd of this month, for finalizing the flight schedules.
