143,000 people to perform Hajj this year
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The government announced the Hajj Policy 2016 on Saturday.
Announcing the policy, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said that the applications under the government scheme will be received from April 18 to 26.
He said that 143,000 people will perform Hajj this year. “A 20 percent decrease in the Pakistani Hajj quota will be kept due to extension in Haram Pak.”
The minister said that 86,021 pilgrims will perform Hajj under the government scheme, while 57,000 pilgrims will perform Hajj under the private quota. “No one will be sent for Hajj free of cost.”
He said that they had taken more steps to provide facilities to pilgrims.
