IHC nullifies Sheikh Ansar’s appointment as CDA chairman
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has on Wednesday declared the appointment of Islamabad Mayor Sheikh Ansar as Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman illegal.
The IHC judge Justice Athar Minallah resumed hearing of the case.
While announcing the reserved verdict of the case, the court declared the September 6, 2016 notification for the appointment of Islamabad Mayor Sheikh Ansar as Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman.
During the proceedings, Justice Athar Minallah asked how it was possible for a civil servant to hold office of the CDA chairman.
The ruling further stated that the appointment of the Islamabad Mayor was a violation of Supreme Court’s decision.
The court directed to appoint the CDA’s Board of Directors and appoint a new Board chairman with in 45 days.
