PM interference made MQM leader’s arrest a political issue, says Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – PTI chairman Imran Khan has said that the interference of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made the arrest of MQM leader a political issue.
In a statement, he said: “As a result, Kh Izhar had to be released and the police officer had to be suspended.”
He said that Rao Anwaar was working as per law.
The PTI chairman expressed his concern over the interference of the prime minister. “The police are not allowed to dispense their responsibilities in Punjab and Sindh,” he said.
Earlier, Imran Khan asked the party’s legal team to get a case registered against Abid Sher Ali.
PTI deputy secretary general Farogh Habib has submitted an application to the Faisalabad CPO.
It has been stated, in the application, that Abid Sher Ali had hurled threats to Imran Khan during a press conference after the latter announced the Raiwind March.
It also said that the threatening statement was also aired by channels.
The applicant contended that Abid Sher Ali’s threats could cause unrest.
