Imran Khan demands immediate resignation of Ishaq Dar
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – PTI chairman Imran Khan has held Finance Minister Ishaq Dar responsible for economic decline in the country, saying that he should resign after a reference against him.
Addressing a press conference before issuing a white paper on the four-year performance of the government on Thursday, he said that investment stopped due to corruption in the country.
He said that loans had touched the highest mark. “The finance minister damaged the economy in the way which cannot be done by even enemies,” he maintained.
Imran said that the house should be put in order to benefit from CPEC. “A favorite person has been made the NAB chief to cover up the mega corruption,” he maintained.
He said that there was more investment in the country during the regimes of Asif Zardari and Pervez Musharraf.
The PTI chairman claimed the debt of the country increased by $18 billion after the PML-N took power and external debt and liabilities increased to $80 billion in FY2016 -17.
He said that tax revenue was only increased by the government by increasing taxes on basic good. “Ishaq Dar kept on saying that tax revenue has increased.”
