Imran Khan writes to Ban Ki-moon against Rohingya Muslims’ genocide
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Wednesday wrote to United Nations (UN) Chief Ban Ki-moon calling to make efforts to end the plight of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
In his letter, the PTI chief said that the crisis in Myanmar is an utter failure of UN in fulfilling its basic purpose of existence. “Even today the Rohingyas have been abandoned on the high seas with no humanitarian assistance forthcoming,” he added.
Imran Khan said that more that 120,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled abroad under desperate circumstances and conditions in the past three years. He called on Ban Ki-moon to move the UN Security Council to end the persecution and genocide of Rohingya Muslims under Chapter VII of the UN Charter.
