Independence Day: Kashmiris wave Pakistani flag in Srinagar depsite restrictions

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Indian authorities imposed restrictions in certain parts of Srinagar on Friday to prevent protests ahead of Independence Day but could not Kashmiris to wave Pakistani flag in the streets.

Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Gillani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Yaseen Malik have been placed under house arrest.

Despite the arrests, Kashmiri women took to the streets under the leadership of Hurriyat leader Asia Andrabi and waved Pakistani flag in the streets of Srinagar, while the people of Indian-held Kashmir also waved Pakistani flag in their houses.
