ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, leader of Hizb-e-Islami of Afghanistan, has asked India not to repeat the mistakes of past in Afghanistan.
Addressing a ceremony at Institute of Policy Studies on Wednesday, he said that the Afghan war was not in the interest of anyone. "The Kashmir issue should be resolved without any intervention and according to the desires of the Kashmiris," he demanded.
Hekmatyar said that they welcomed the US-Taliban peace deal. "The good news is that the US will leave Afghanistan. Neither the US-Taliban deal nor Intra-Afghan Negotiations was possible without the support of Pakistan."
He said that they have close and old relations with Pakistan. "We will not let anyone use the Afghan soil against anyone," he added.
The Hizb-e-Islami leader said that peace is not possible in Afghanistan in the presence of America. "India and Iran are supporting the government of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. India had supported the Najeeb government after the exit of the USSR," he said.
The Afghan former PM said that the Afghans will have to hold impartial dialogues at an impartial venue. "We hope that there will be peaceful and prosperous Pakistan and Afghanistan in the future," he concluded.
