Indian army officer among three arrested for dealing in drugs
NEW DELHI (92 News) – An Indian Air Force (IAF) officer, a scientist and his wife were arrested for their involvement in an international drug syndicate.
The raids, held in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, uncovered a global ring of drug dealers. About 220 kg of amphetamine worth Rs 230 crore was also seized during the raid. Another 10 kg was seized from a Bengaluru house.
Indian Anti-Narcotics force arrested IAF Wing Commander Rajashekhar Reddy and seized Rs 700,000 in cash, five mobile phones and incriminating documents found on his person.
Reddy, the kingpin of the racket, was produced in a Hyderabad court on October 5 and sent to custody of Anti-Narcotics force.
Similarly, Venkat Rama Rao, the scientist, and his wife are other vital links of the drug syndicate.
