Indian forces continue to commit atrocities in IHK; one more killed
SRINAGAR (92 News) – Another innocent Kashmiri was martyred and about 30 people were injured on Wednesday in clashes with Indian security forces in Ratnipora in Kashmir’s Pulwama district as Union home minister Rajnath Singh started his two-day visit.
With the death of the youth, the toll in the ongoing unrest in the Kashmir valley has climbed to 77. The innocent Kashmiri yout, who had pellet injuries in his chest, was brought to SMHS Hospital here but the doctors declared him brought dead.
Several other persons have sustained injuries in the clashes which were going on till last reports came in.
Besides the 77 martyred, several thousand others have been injured in the clashes that began on July 9, a day after Hizbul Mujahideen freedom fighter Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter with security forces in Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Normal life remained paralyzed for the 47th consecutive day in the Occupied Kashmir due to curfew, restrictions and strike. The Valley is on a boil following the killing of freedom fighter Burhan Wani in an encounter with security forces on July 8. More than 80 persons and thousands others have been injured in the clashes that began on July 9.
Previously, in occupied Kashmir, six civilians including a boy were killed and several others injured due to the firing of Indian forces on peaceful protesters in Srinagar, Budgam and Islamabad districts.
Five protesters were killed after security forces fired on protesters in Beerwah area of Budgam district. Another youth from Anantnag district of South Kashmir died during clashes with the security forces today. Dozens of people have been injured in the protests.
