India shouldn’t object to Hurriyat leaders’ participation in Pakistan Day ceremony: Pakistan HC Abdul Basit
NEW DELHI – Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit said on Monday that the Indian government should not object to Hurriyat Conference leaders’ participation in the Pakistan Day ceremony in New Delhi, reported 92 News.
Seven Hurriyat Conference leaders, including chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Gillani, participated in the ceremony.
Earlier on Sunday, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq met Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit in New Delhi and discussed several issues. He stressed the need for resumption of bilateral talks between India and Pakistan.
The seven-member delegation – Mirwaiz, Abdul Gani Bhat, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Bilal Gani Lone, Aga Syed Hassan, Mussadiq Adil and Mukhtar Ahmad Waza – had arrived in New Delhi for the meeting on the invitation of the Pakistan envoy.
