WASHINGTON (92 News) – Head of US Central Command General Joseph Votel has on Friday warned that India-Pakistan conflict could turn into nuclear war.

Testifying before the Senate Armed Services Committee, he said that India’s policy to diplomatically isolate Pakistan hinders prospects for improved relations between the two countries.

Gen Votel said that Pakistan remains a “key partner” of the US in the fight against terrorism in the Af-Pak region. “They have done some things that have been helpful to us.”

He said that India remained concerned about the lack of action against India-focused militants based in Pakistan.
