Indo-Pak NSAs agree to defuse tensions on the LoC
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Adviser to Prime Minister on National Security Nasir Janjua and Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval made a contact amid escalating tension on the Line of Control (LoC).
During the conversation, Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that Nasir Janjua and his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval agreed to defuse tensions on the LoC and between the two nuclear-arch rivals.
The two leaders stressed the need of dialogues to reduce tensions along the LoC.
Sartaj Aziz said that India wants to deflect world’s attention from Kashmir issue but Pakistan does not want to escalate tension at borders.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made it clear that the tensions along the LoC will not solve until the resolution of Kashmir dispute.
Tensions have been at a peak between India and Pakistan after Burhan Wani was killed by the Indian security forces. Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif described Burhan Wani as a “martyr” fueling the fire.
India is trying to isolate Pakistan diplomatically after a recent attack in Indian-held Kashmir that killed 18 Indian soldiers. New Delhi blamed a Pakistan for the attack. Pakistan denies that.
