ECO summit: International leaders start reaching Islamabad

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The heads of state and governments have started arriving in Islamabad to attend the ECO Summit to be held on Wednesday.

 The first to arrive in the capital was the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. He was warmly greeted at the Nur Khan airbase by Minister of Defense Production Rana Tanveer Hussain and other senior officials.

As the visiting president was alighting from the plane, he was presented with a twenty one gun salute.

A smartly turned out contingent of armed forces presented guard of honor to the distinguished guest. National anthems of both the countries were also played on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has also arrived in Islamabad to participate in ECO summit to be held in the Federal Capital on Wednesday.

He was warmly greeted at the Nur Khan Airbase by Minister of States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch and other senior officials.


As the visiting president alighted from the plane, he was presented with a twenty-one gun salute.
