Interior Minister Ijaz Shah confirms news about escape of Ehsanullah Ehsan
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Interior Minister Ijaz Shah has confirmed the news about the escape of Ehsanullah Ehsan, spokesman for Taliban, on Monday.
Talking to the media, the minister said that he had also heard about the escape of Ehsnaullah Ehsan. “The news is true and the state is aware of it,” he said.
Brig (retd) Ijaz Shah said that the work on it was going on and the people would hear a good news about it.
Ehsan was infamous for issuing chilling claims following TTP attacks and has been linked to some of the country’s most bloody attacks — including the bombing at a park in Lahore during Easter 2016, and the targeting of education activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai.
Ehsan surrendered to authorities in 2017 and later gave high-profile interviews on TV. Pakistani security officials had claimed that he had supplied valuable intelligence in the fight against militants.
Overall levels of extremist-linked violence have dropped dramatically last year, with 2019 seeing the fewest deaths since 2007 when TTP was formed.
