Intermittent rain turns weather pleasant in several cities on Eid
LAHORE (92 News) – Intermittent rain pre-monsoon rains in parts of the country, including Lahore and Faisalabad, on Wednesday turned the weather pleasant on the third day of Eidul Fitr while breaking the intensity of heat.
Rains and continuously blowing winds provided much needed relief to the heat stricken people by decreasing temperature during the day and at nighttime.
The rainfall served as a respite from the sweltering heat, as the weather turned pleasant and the temperature dropped a few degrees.
On the other hand, the Met Office predicted a fresh spell of widespread monsoon rains with a greater intensity begins across the country from today.
A Met Office spokesman said that the monsoon has already made onset in the country from Monday but isolated heavy falls are expected in Islamabad, Upper Punjab, Lower Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Eastern Balochistan and Kashmir today and tomorrow.
The spokesman said the heavy falls may generate flash floods in the vulnerable areas particularly in Barsati Nullahs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar region, Gujranwala, DG Khan divisions and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, rain-thundershowers with gusty winds occurred at scattered places of Punjab, lower Sindh, eastern Balochistan and Malakand division.
