ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan Jawaad S Khawaja has said that it is very dangerous to give evidence of truth nowadays.

Addressing the farewell full court reference on Wednesday, he said that judges, lawyers and government were responsible for destruction of the judicial system. “I have seen several facets of fear under the influence of money and coercion in courts of justice,” he said.

The retiring chief justice said that the suo motu notice was the last ray of hope for the deprived section of the society. “A little time is spent on such cases, but the people benefit from it,” he maintained.

Chief Justice Jawaad S Khawaja said that fearless faces are the hustle bustle of courts. “It is necessary to make changes in the accountability system of lawyers.”

The new Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, who will take an oath on Thursday, said that it was not necessary that each verdict of each judge be liked.

“The courage and straightforwardness of Chief Justice Jawaad S Khawaja will be remembered forever,” he remarked.
