Provocative speech case: Jamshed Dasti released from Sargodha jail

SARGODHA (92 News) – The anti-terrorism court (ATC) has on Monday granted bail to Member National Assembly (MNA) Jamshed Dasti against surety bonds worth Rs 100,000.

Later, he was released from Sargodha jail. His supporters showered rose petals on his release.

Earlier, the ATC had reserved in judgment on the bail plea of legislator Jamshed Dasti.

The Member National Assembly (MNA) was presented before the court amid tight security. The court adjourned the hearing until July 13.

Police had also barred the mother and sister of the lawmaker from entering the courtroom.

Strict security arrangements were made on the occasion of the hearing.

Jamshed Dasti was again shifted to District Jail Sargodha.

On the other hand, dozens of supporters of the Member National Assembly staged a protest demonstration outside the District Police Officer (DPO) office.

The protesters chanted anti-government slogans and demanded the authorities end false cases against Jamshed Dasti.
