Japan PM says aside from price goal, BOJ must spur growth

TOKYO – Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on Tuesday the central bank’s aggressive monetary easing is aimed not just at achieving its 2 percent inflation target but at stimulating the economy.

“I hope the BOJ conducts monetary policy to achieve its 2 percent inflation target, as well as focus on stimulating the economy,” Abe told parliament.
