Japanese FM Taro Kono calls on COAS Gen Qamar Bajwa at GHQ
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ on Thursday.
According to the ISPR, the visiting dignitary was presented guard of honour and he laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada monument.
The foreign minister was given a briefing on Pakistan’s war on terror and contributions to regional peace.
The Japanese foreign minister appreciated and acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts towards regional peace and stability. He said that Japan looks forward to enhance its security cooperation with Pakistan, especially in the field of counter terrorism. He also informed about Japanese assistance for rehabilitation of TDPs and provision of scanning equipment for border crossing points.
The COAS thanked the foreign minister for his visit, acknowledgment of Pakistan’s efforts towards regional peace and assistance in counter terrorism domain.
