JI leader Zafar Baig among two killed in Sialkot

SIALKOT (92 News) – Jamaat-e-Islami leader Zafar Baig Advocate and his cousin were killed while their brother sustained bullet injuries in a firing incident in Sialkot’s Talwara Mughlan area on Wednesday.

Jamaat-e-Islami leader Zafar Baig Advocate was sitting outside his house in city’s Talwara Mughlan area when some unidentified armed assailants opened firing killing Jamaat-e-Islami leader Zafar Baig Advocate and his cousin Mirza Zafar Baig on the spot while injuring their brother Imran Baig.

After being informed, huge contingent of police reached the spot and shifted the bodies and injured to Allama Iqbal Memorial Hospital.

According to police, the reason behind the targeted killing is political enmity, however, police have lodged a case and launched investigation into the incident.

The lawyers and Jamaat-e-Islami activists staged a protest demonstration following the incident and demanded the arrested of the culprits, while the District Bar Association (DBA) lawyers announced to boycott the court proceedings today (Wednesday).
