Judiciary can’t be an effective institution without accountability, says Justice Saqib Nisar
LAHORE (92 News) – Justice Saqib Nisar of the Supreme Court has said that how it is possible that no judge conducted misconduct after 1970.
Addressing a seminar held under the auspices of the Supreme Court Bar Association on Saturday, he said that it should not happen that a chief justice takes a suo motu notice after having a dream at night.
He warned the lawyers that verdicts of one’s choice could not be taken by humiliating the judges. “Should judges be not held accountable?” he said.
He said that an amendment should be made to the Supreme Court Rules with regard to suo motu notices.
Justice Saqib Nisar said that the judiciary could not be made an effective institution without accountability.
