Junaid Jamshed remembered on his 3rd death anniversary
KARACHI (92 News) – Religious preacher and renowned singer Junaid Jamshed is being remembered on his third death anniversary.
Junaid Jamshed rocketed to fame in Pakistan in the 1980s and 1990s as the singer for the Vital Signs rock group, and later launched a solo career, with a string of chart-topping albums and hits.
The band Vital Signs was launched in early 1986 in Rawalpindi by Keyboardist Rohail Hyatt and bassist Shahzad Hassan (Shahi).
Junaid Jamshed joined them as their lead singer. The widely-admired singer never actually intended to opt for a career in music and tried his hand in the Pakistan Air Force as an F-16 fighter pilot.
He retired from music in 2001 and announced that he was devoting his life to Islam. He was on board an aircraft that crashed into a mountain side in Havelian.
